Restorations

When a tooth is damaged by decay, a crack, or wear, a restoration rebuilds its shape and strength so it can work normally again.

Restorative options we provide

  • Tooth-colored fillings for smaller areas of decay
  • Onlay restorations for larger damage where a full crown is not required
  • Crowns to cover and protect a tooth that has lost significant structure
  • Bridges to span a gap using the teeth on either side

Choosing conservatively

The goal is to keep as much healthy tooth as possible. Smaller problems usually call for smaller treatment, so we start with the least invasive option that will actually hold up. Dr. Schmidtke will show you what he is seeing and explain why a particular restoration fits.

If something breaks

Call the office as soon as you can. Describe what happened and what you are feeling, and the team will advise you on what to do next and how soon you should be seen.
